Windplanblauw is located on the north-east side of Flevoland in the area of Swifterbant and Dronten. This is where Vattenfall, in cooperation with SwifterwinT and Molenrak B.V. is realizing Windplanblauw. The plan involves the replacement of 74 old wind turbines for 61 new ones, which are larger and more powerful. The project consists of two parts, namely the onshore part consisting of 37 wind turbines supplied by Vestas type EnVentus 5.6MW, and 24 wind turbines located in the IJsselmeer (Nearshore) supplied by GE, type Cypress 5.5MW. Operationally, the entire wind farm will have a capacity of about 340MW, enough yield the electricity consumption of 450,000 households (about 1.0mln people).

WindplanBlauw consist out of 5 contracts namely:

    1. Contract WTG supplier Onshore

    2. BOP Onshore

    3. WTG Supplier Nearshore

    4. BOP Nearshore

    5. Substation

WindBase was involved in all the contracts, which included:

    1. Contract WTG supplier Onshore, Qa/Qc of the coatings, Welding of the tower, and the stairs but also problems which occurred during the lifting process..

    2. BOP Onshore, Active assessment of the design, risk controlled design review but also on the work method plans, maintenance plans and inspection plans

    3. WTG Supplier Nearshore, visiting tower fabrication process, QA/Qc steel towers and coating inspections

    4. BOP Nearshore, Engineering Bases of design, Active assessment of the design and risk controlled design review en inspections during construction.

    5. Substation Active assessment of the design, risk controlled design review but also on the work method plans, maintenance plans and inspection plans

    Wind Farm Hannut
Located in the beautifull regio of Hannut, in Wallonia Belgium, Windpark Hannuit features six Enercon E-138 turbines. Each turbine boasts a capacity of 4.2 MW, collectively producing an 57 GWh annually. This ambitious project is a co-development between the companies Eneco and Elicio. The foundation was poured by contractor H4A at the end of April 2025.At Windbase, we provided the final structural design and conducted quality inspections throughout the execution of the foundation. We have realy enjoyed the design proces including the realisation phase. Showcasing the power of collaboration with other professionals in driving sustainable energy solutions. With in the end the result of a safe, sustainable and a economical foundation.
    Wind Farm Koraal Tabak
The Koraal Tabak wind farm on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao is nearing completion. The last of the five Vestas V150 turbines has recently been erected. Windbase was responsible for the foundation design. During the construction phase, Windbase provided expert guidance on the foundations and steel components of the wind turbines. The foundation design presented some challenges due to the soil conditions at the construction site. As the name suggests, Koraal Tabak is situated in close proximity to the coastline, where the soil composition is predominantly coral limestone. The nature of this type of stone is such that, over time, it may develop cavities, which can make foundation work more challenging. In general, the top soil layers are more solid and hard, while the lower soil layers, which are more affected by groundwater and seawater, are less hard and have more cavities. The results of the local soil investigations highlighted the presence of unfavorable soil layers and cavities, necessitating a minor repositioning of the turbines. Ultimately, the optimal solution in terms of optimization and risk mitigation was to utilize shallow foundations with a founding depth of only 0.5 m.Main foundation parameters per foundation:Concrete C30/37: 739 m3Concrete C45/55: 17 m3Reinforcement B500B: 63 tons (83 kg/m3)Foundation diameter: 23 mFour in a Row!The Windpark Koraal Tabak project represents the fourth undertaking on the island for Windbase, where the company has assumed responsibility for foundation design and QA/QC throughout the execution phase.Following a comprehensive preparation phase, construction commenced last spring. The Windpark Koraal Tabak project was successfully completed within just six months. As Windbase's involvement extends beyond the delivery of design documents, we were also actively engaged during the preparation phase, sharing our expertise and providing advice to local parties. We held numerous discussions and meeting with our project partners on Curaçao, where we used Teams to share our design concepts, tips, and tricks. During the foundation execution, Windbase fulfilled the role of the client's advisor, ensuring QA/QC through activities such as rebar inspections and oversight during the concrete pouring process. We are pleased to announce the successful installation of all five turbines, with the park expected to be fully connected to the grid by the end of the year. This will add another 20 MW of wind energy capacity to the Curaçao grid.We would like to congratulate all project partners on the successful completion of this amazing project. We look back on this collaboration with pride and satisfaction. We now look forward to our next international adventure!
    Wind Farm Mondriaan - Oosterhorn
Because of the trend where cranes are getting bigger and bigger, the previously designed hardstands for windfarm Mondrioaan – Oosterhorn had to be re-evaluated. Windbase did this re-evaluation and came with generally applicable mitigating measures to make the hardstands suitable for heavier cranes.
